2026-11-01 · data write-up

Numbers as of 2026-11-01: written before snapshots were stored, so its window and n are not recorded. The live metagame is since the 2026-10-12 banlist took effect (2026-10-12 to 2026-11-04), n=842 players in 38 events, and may differ from the figures below.

Overview

Enel (OP05-098) is a Yellow leader built around the life-zero mechanic: it gives your opponent extra life cards, filling their life zone so your trigger cards fire on demand. In the current OP17 post-banlist metagame (23 events, 514 registered players since the October 12, 2026 banlist), Enel sits at 4.7% meta share — fifth most played. Its tournament win rate (non-mirror matches) is 58.4% on a record of 104-74-3 across 178 matches (95% confidence interval 51-65%).

Why play Enel right now

Enel is one of the few decks with a clear positive matchup against Rocks.D.Xebec OP17-039 (Blue), the dominant leader at 16.0% of the field. Enel goes 24-12-1 against Xebec (67% win rate). That one data point alone makes Enel a legitimate metagame choice in a Xebec-heavy field. It also beats the next two most popular decks: Luffy & Ace ST30-001 (Red/Green) at 82% (9-2) and Monkey.D.Luffy OP13-001 (Red/Green) at 81% (17-4). The price is a hard matchup into Buggy OP09-042 (Blue) (20%, 2-8).

How the deck wins

Enel's leader ability reads something like: once per turn, you may give your opponent a card from outside the game as a life card. When their life zone fills, your own Yellow trigger effects fire. The game plan is to flood their life early, then protect your board and convert the trigger-chain into attacks they cannot block. Yellow's strongest triggers give you DON!! ramp or block-immune attackers — the deck's ceiling is landing multiple triggers in one turn.

Budget notes

Most of Enel's core is cheap: Zeus ($3), Pudding ($2.45), and the leader itself ($0.18). The expensive slots are Borsalino ($32.69) and Teach ($23.85) — top lists run these as high-ceiling finishers, but budget builds cut them for cheaper alternatives. The core gameplan works without them; you trade ceiling for consistency.
