Numbers as of 2026-11-07: written before snapshots were stored, so its window and n are not recorded. The live metagame is since the 2026-10-12 banlist took effect (2026-10-12 to 2026-11-07), n=855 players in 42 events, and may differ from the figures below.
Overview
Kalgara (OP08-098) is a Yellow leader with 5 life and 5000 power from OP08 (Two Legends). Since the October 12 banlist it has 9 entries among 697 tracked Limitless players with a recorded deck (about 1.3% of the field) and a 62.2% win rate (28W-17L across 45 non-mirror matches), one of the best records among leaders with a meaningful number of entries. Four top-cut lists exist in the window, all from ChinoizeCup events, including a first-place finish at ChinoizeCup #122 (2026-10-13). Tracked list totals run $196 to $206, with the cost concentrated in a handful of 5-cost Yellow cards.
Treat the win rate as a signal, not a verdict: 45 matches from four players is a small sample, and the records below show it.
How the deck works
Kalgara's leader ability: with 1 DON!! attached, when attacking, play a {Shandian Warrior} Character from your hand whose cost is at most the number of DON!! on your field; if you do, add 1 card from the top of your Life to your hand. Every attack therefore turns into a free Character and a life-to-hand swap, so the deck is built around life as a resource instead of a countdown.
The engine pieces appear at full playsets in every tracked list: Kalgara OP15-101 (3c) trashes a card to look at 5 and add up to 2 Mont Blanc Noland or Shandian Warrior cards; Wyper OP08-110 (4c) digs for Upper Yard and plays it; Kalgara OP12-099 (5c) draws a card whenever a Life card is removed during your turn, which the leader triggers every attack. Upper Yard OP05-117, Mont Blanc Noland OP08-109 and The Earth Will Not Lose! OP08-115 fill out the curve.
The top end is Yellow 5-drops. Borsalino EB04-058 is a 6000-power Blocker that adds a card from your deck to Life when you are at 2 or less Life, so the deck can refill life it has spent. Nami EB03-053 gives a rested DON!! to your leader and can take a Life card from an opponent at 3 or more, and Monkey.D.Luffy OP15-119 gains Rush at 6 or more DON!! on your field. Removal comes from Zeus OP11-106 (K.O. a cost-5-or-less Character by adding a Life card to hand) and Kingdom Come EB01-059 (K.O. a Character, then trim Life to 1).

Matchups (tournament records)
| Opponent leader | Record |
|---|---|
| Luffy & Ace ST30-001 | 7-2 |
| Monkey.D.Luffy OP17-079 | 3-0 |
| Donquixote Rosinante OP12-061 | 3-1 |
| Rocks.D.Xebec OP17-039 | 2-4 |
| Enel OP05-098 | 1-2 |
| Monkey.D.Luffy OP13-001 | 0-3 |
Only matches where both players' decks were recorded are counted, so each row is 9 matches or fewer; read them as a first look. The pattern worth testing: Kalgara's life-to-hand engine has done well into Luffy & Ace and OP17-079 and struggled into Xebec and OP13-001. If you pilot it, expect Xebec to be the hard matchup and plan Zeus and Kingdom Come to answer its early board.
Should you play it?
Kalgara is a midrange pick for players who like resource engines and do not mind a $200 list, but the cost is mostly three cards: it is cheaper than it looks once you own the Yellow 5-drops. With only four top-cut lists, the build is not settled: compare the lists on the leader pages before locking 50.
