Overview
Monkey.D.Luffy (ST10-002) is a Red/Purple leader from the ST10 Starter Deck. In the current post-banlist meta (since October 12, 2026), ST10 Luffy holds a 2.0% meta share (21 of 1,576 tracked players) with a 53.8% non-mirror win rate (43W–37L, 80 matches in the last 30 days). That win rate ranks it comfortably above 50% despite a small sample — 15 top-cut decklists tracked since OP17's release.
The deck runs Red's efficient rush package alongside Purple's DON!! attachment cards to build a wide board of medium-cost threats. At ~50–10 for the full tournament list, it is one of the more accessible competitive builds in the current meta.
How the deck wins
ST10-002 Luffy's leader ability rewards attaching DON!! to your characters: by keeping your DON!! pump pointed at the board rather than the leader, you threaten multiple attackers simultaneously and force your opponent into unfavorable blocks. The game plan splits into three phases.
Early (turns 1–3): Fill the board with cheap Straw Hat attackers. Uso-Hachi (ST18-001, .80) is a 2-cost 3,000-power Rush attacker from ST18 that enters active — it swings the same turn it's played, applying immediate pressure before your opponent can stabilize. Nami (OP01-016, .35) is a staple 2-drop that draws a card on play, keeping your hand full during the aggressive early turns. Zoro-Juurou (OP05-067, /usr/bin/bash.33) adds another low-cost body for redundancy in the 2-drop slot.
Mid (turns 4–6): The upgrade package lands. Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (EB01-061, 5.73) is a flexible 5-cost threat that can copy the name of any character in play, allowing it to inherit powerful on-attack or blocker triggers from your other cards. Roronoa Zoro (EB04-007, 8.11) is the deck's premier attacker: a 5-cost 7,000-power Rush character that gains +1,000 power for each DON!! attached to your leader, scaling up to 10,000+ in the late game. With ST10-002's leader ability pumping the board, Zoro frequently hits 8,000–9,000 power on the turn he enters, creating a 2-attack threat before your opponent can respond.
Yamato (OP17-074, .43) provides the Purple element: a 4-cost 5,000-power blocker that can attach a DON!! card from your cost area to one of your characters on play, accelerating your power curve by one turn without spending your main phase DON!!.
Late (turns 7+): Gum-Gum Giant (OP09-078, .69) is a 7-cost 9,000-power finisher with Rush that closes the game by bypassing blockers. Mamaragan (OP15-078, 5.52) is the deck's high-impact event: it removes an opponent's character and can swing a stalled board in your favor in the final turns. The Thousand Sunny (ST31-005, .27) gives the deck a mid-game reset by bouncing all your characters with 5,000 or less power to hand and replaying them, triggering "on play" effects twice in a single turn.
Matchups
The 15-decklist sample is too small to call definitive percentages for individual matchups, but the broader trends from tournament data are clear.
- vs. Rocks.D.Xebec OP17-039 (16% of meta): The matchup is competitive. Xebec's KO effects (which target characters it did not attack) are largely irrelevant against a deck that constantly attacks before resting. Rush threats force Xebec players to use life for blocks rather than setting up their board, narrowing the KO-trigger windows.
- vs. Enel OP05-098 / OP15-058 (combined ~8% of meta): Difficult. Enel's life-to-zero payoff requires the opponent to deal the final damage carefully, and the life mechanic punishes wide aggro boards that run out of safe attacks in the final two life points. Use Bon Kurei to copy Enel's own trigger name when possible to neutralize the life-zero payoff.
- vs. Kaido OP17-058 (5.5% of meta): Favorable. Kaido's large-body control plan struggles against a Rush strategy that gets ahead before the 7+ DON!! turns where Kaido dominates. Keep Zoro EB04-007 at max DON!! attachment to match Kaido's 8,000–9,000 bodies.

Budget vs. tournament list
The core of Uso-Hachi, Yamato, Gum-Gum Giant, Nami OP01-016 and Zoro-Juurou OP05-067 runs under 0 total. The tournament-level upgrades — Zoro EB04-007, Bon Kurei EB01-061, Mamaragan OP15-078 — push the deck to 50+. For a competitive entry point, run 2 copies of Zoro and Bon Kurei first, then add Mamaragan once you are comfortable with the game plan. The leader card itself (ST10-002) can be found for under 0 as a single.
