Overview
Dracule Mihawk (OP14-020) is a Green leader from the Wings of the Captain set (OP14). In the current post-banlist meta, Mihawk sits at 10.1% meta share — third most-played leader behind Rocks.D.Xebec (12.8%) and Sabo (10.2%) — with a 53.5% win rate across 1,445 wins and 1,256 losses in 728 canonical decklists. That 53.5% edges out every other leader in the top five and makes Mihawk the meta's most statistically consistent performer.
Dracule Mihawk is the world's greatest swordsman in the One Piece story, and his OP14 card reflects that identity: a Slash-attribute leader that generates a DON!! refund engine. Competitively, the deck is unusual because it has access to the full ST32 (Zoro & Mihawk) starter package — Kin'emon, Kouzuki Oden, and Perona — which together create a consistent early draw engine and board that powers up Mihawk's leader ability every turn.
How Mihawk wins
Mihawk (OP14-020) is a 5-Life, 5000-attack Green leader with the Slash attribute. His passive adds +1000 power in the rare mirror match against another Slash leader. His core ability reads: [Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] You may rest 1 of your cards: if there is a Character with a cost of 5 or more on your field, set up to 3 of your DON!! cards as active. Then, you cannot play Character cards this turn.
That ability is the deck's engine. The sequence: play Kin'emon (ST32-001, 1 cost) on early turns, using its On Play trigger to rest the leader or a DON!! while drawing 2 and trashing 1. Once Kouzuki Oden (ST32-002, 5 cost) is on the field, Mihawk can rest one card each turn to refill 3 DON!! — effectively gaining free attack power every turn without spending resources. A 10 DON!! turn where you hold up 7 attack DON!! for a swing and then refund 3 is a swing most leaders cannot answer cleanly.
Perona (OP12-034, 1 cost) supports the draw engine. Her On Play trigger — look at the top 5 cards, take 1 Slash card or Green Event — works because Mihawk has the Slash attribute, letting Perona tutor Kin'emon, Oden, Shanks (OP17-022), or any of the deck's Green Events. At 1 cost with a +1000 counter, Perona is a free cantrip that also shields life totals.
The event suite reinforces the swing plan. You Can Be My Samurai!! (OP01-055) is the signature Slash support event, and The Billion-fold World Trichiliocosm (OP06-038) provides a low-cost interaction piece. Shanks (OP17-022) adds a mid-game threat, and Trafalgar Law (OP13-031) handles specific board states. The result is a Green midrange deck that draws deeply, refuels DON!! every turn, and attacks for more than the opponent can block.

Counts from 728 canonical decklists. Market prices from TCGplayer via TCGCSV, updated daily. Perona (OP12-034) at $12.41 for a playset of four (~$50) is the deck's largest single investment. All other named cards are under $4 per copy.
Matchup context
Mihawk's 53.5% win rate is the highest of any top-five meta leader. The deck's DON!! refund engine creates a structural advantage against midrange strategies that cannot race the tempo — once Oden is on the board, Mihawk generates a free 3 DON!! swing every turn that most decks cannot profitably block.
- vs Rocks.D.Xebec OP17-039 (12.8% meta): Mihawk's high-counter 1-cost characters (Perona, Kin'emon at +1000 each) blunt Xebec's Banish pressure. The DON!! refund means Mihawk can attack large and still hold counters — Xebec's main edge is the early Banish clock, which Mihawk's draw engine mitigates.
- vs Sabo OP13-004 (10.2% meta): Sabo's On Play triggers and life pressure compete directly with Mihawk's draw speed. The matchup is considered close; Mihawk's 53.5% aggregate win rate reflects a slight edge over the field, but Sabo's fire element disruption can interrupt the Oden setup.
- vs Monkey.D.Luffy OP17-079 Elbaph (6.0% meta): Elbaph runs large blockers that absorb Mihawk's DON++-boosted swings. Mihawk can answer with the Billion-fold World Trichiliocosm event to remove blockers; the matchup is a resource race.

Is Mihawk worth building?
Mihawk is one of the most affordable top-tier decks in the current format. The largest single-card cost is Perona (OP12-034) at $12.41 per copy — a full playset of four runs approximately $50. Kouzuki Oden (ST32-002) at $8.84 adds another ~$35 for four. All other named cards cost under $4 per copy. A complete competitive Mihawk list typically falls in the $80–$120 range at market, among the cheapest top-five meta decks.
For players entering competitive OPTCG, Mihawk offers the highest win rate in the top five, a low buy-in, and a straightforward plan — set up Oden, refund DON!!, swing large. The deck does not require any single card over $13, and the ST32 starter provides most of the core pieces at a fraction of individual card prices. Mihawk's 10.1% play rate and 53.5% win rate make it a strong value pick at both local and regional events.
