Overview

Charlotte Pudding (OP08-058) is a Purple/Yellow Big Mom Pirates leader from the OP-08 "Two Legends" set. In the current OP17 post-banlist meta (38 events, 842 players since October 12, 2026), Pudding holds a 2.5% meta share (21 of 842 players) with a 46.5% non-mirror win rate (71 matches on Limitless). On the optcg.one ladder, Pudding posts a 54.5% win rate against Rocks.D.Xebec across 128 games — meaningfully better than her 50% paper result — suggesting the deck scales with reps.

Pudding is a hand-disruption leader. Her [Activate:Main] [Once Per Turn]: DON!! -1 ability reveals the top 3 cards of the opponent's deck face-up; the opponent picks 1 to add to their hand, and the other 2 are shuffled back. Run every turn, this denies the opponent their best topdeck, telegraphs their hand, and creates long-game information advantages that compound into the mid-game. The Purple/Yellow hybrid opens the entire Big Mom Pirates type pool — powerful 7+ cost Yellow finishers (Charlotte Linlin, Charlotte Katakuri) alongside Purple's hand-control events.

Charlotte Pudding is one of One Piece's most memorable antagonists-turned-ally: a chocolatier with the hidden power of her Three-Eye Tribe lineage, capable of erasing and implanting memories. Her OP08 card incarnation reflects this: the deck plays a methodical information game, peeling the best cards out of the opponent's line before they can land.

How Pudding wins

The core loop is attrition through disruption. Pudding's leader ability fires every turn for 1 DON!! — over a 10-turn game that is 10 activations, each one steering the opponent away from their best answer. The deck runs a midrange character base (Big Mom Pirates 4–6 cost threats) that stabilises the board while the leader ability quietly erodes the opponent's options. By the time the opponent would naturally draw into their win condition, Pudding has seen it and pushed it to the bottom.

Yellow access brings the Big Mom Pirates' cost-reduction suite. High-cost Big Mom Pirates characters (8+ cost) reduce their own play cost by the number of friendly Big Mom Pirates characters on the board, letting Pudding deploy 10-cost finishers on turn 7–8 when other decks are still in the mid-game. Purple contributes hand-disruption events and high-power blockers that keep the life total stable while the deck draws into its best pieces.

The weakest point is the aggro matchup: Luffy & Ace (ST30-001) posts an 8% win rate against Pudding in paper (1-12) and 16% on the ladder (3-16). Red/Green speed simply outruns the information game — Pudding's DON!! activation costs a tempo point that aggressive decks immediately exploit. Against slower or combo-dependent opponents (Xebec, Buggy, Luffy OP17-079), the disruption loop is a genuine problem for the opponent.

OpponentPaperLadderReading
Rocks.D.Xebec OP17-03950% (8-8, n=16)55% (71-57, n=128)Even in paper; Pudding's disruption pressures Xebec's hand-dependent game plan.
Luffy & Ace ST30-0018% (1-12)16% (3-16)Severe counter — Red/Green aggro outpaces the DON!! activation loop entirely.
Sabo OP13-00456% (5-4)—Slight edge; Pudding's disruption neutralises Sabo's mid-range consistency.
Monkey.D.Luffy OP13-001100% (2-0, small)—Very small sample; treat as coin-flip until more data.
Monkey.D.Luffy OP17-079 (Elbaph)80% (4-1, small)—Looks favourable; Pudding's disruption stalls the Elbaph board-build.
Enel OP05-09850% (1-1, small)—Insufficient data.
Buggy OP09-042100% (3-0, small)—Very small sample; promising but unconfirmed.

Verdict

Charlotte Pudding is a niche disruptor. At 2.5% meta share and 46.5% win rate, the paper numbers place it as a lower mid-tier option — but the gap between paper (50% vs Xebec) and ladder (55% vs Xebec) suggests the deck rewards practice. The critical flaw is Luffy & Ace: until that matchup improves, Pudding struggles to place consistently in open metas where Red/Green is well-represented. If you enjoy methodical information control and are willing to dodge or accept the aggro matchup, Pudding rewards the pilot.
